If you want to return your order, please contact us at hello@peoplesrepublicofcashmere.com within 14 calendar days after delivery. Returns are only possible if the item is returned in the same condition as when received.

Refunds will be made as soon as possible after receiving your package and within 8 business days. The amount for the item will be refunded to the same means of payment that was used when ordering. You will receive a confirmation via email once your return is processed, and you will be able to see the refund in your bank account or credit card statement up to 30 days after the refund is issued.

For orders to Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, VAT and customs duties are included in the purchasing price but excluding shipping costs.

For other non-EU countries, we offer tax-free purchases. VAT (25% of the total price) is automatically deducted based on your location. Please note that local charges (customs duty, sales tax, etc.) can occur depending on your region and local customs legislation. These charges are at your own expense.

The Women's Roundneck and Women's Boxy O-Neck are two different styles of cashmere sweaters with distinct features.

The Women's Roundneck sweater features a classic round neckline that sits comfortably around the base of the neck. It is well-fitted to the body, offering a more streamlined and traditional silhouette. It is made of 12 gauge cashmere, which is tightly woven for a denser and more durable feel suitable for year-round wear. It is a regular fit, but for a more relaxed look, we suggest going up one size.

On the other hand, the Women's Boxy O-Neck sweater has a more relaxed and oversized fit. It features a wider and boxier silhouette with dropped shoulders. The neckline is an o-neck, which is slightly wider and looser compared to the roundneck. The sleeves are designed to be longer, and the body length is slightly cropped - shorter than the roundneck style. It is made of 10-gauge cashmere, that feels light on the skin. The boxy fit offers a more relaxed and comfortable feel, perfect for layering during warmer months. If in doubt of the size, we recommend going one down.

Yes, the Original Collection is suitable for men. It is the very first line developed by our brand, which was specially crafted for a perfect unisex fit – it fits not only men but also women. This thread serves as a handy tool for mending any minor damages or snags that may occur, allowing you to maintain the condition of your cashmere piece. To mend a cashmere sweater with a thread, start by selecting a needle suitable for fine knits. Carefully stitch along the damaged area, aligning the edges of the hole or tear. Use small, even stitches to secure the thread and close the gap, ensuring a seamless repair. Take care to knot the thread at the end to secure the repair.  With this simple method, you can easily mend your cashmere sweater and extend its lifespan, ensuring it remains a beloved part of your wardrobe.

The cashmere gauge refers to the density of stitches in a cashmere garment, but it does not indicate the thickness of the yarn itself. It is typically measured by the number of stitches per inch or centimetre. The gauge of a cashmere garment can affect its warmth, durability, and overall feel. It is an important consideration when choosing a cashmere product as it can determine its suitability for different seasons or occasions.

We offer pieces made of gauge 12 cashmere, gauge 10 cashmere, and gauge 7 cashmere.

The 12-gauge cashmere has 12 stitches or rows of yarn per inch, so the cashmere is relatively dense. It is tightly woven for a denser and more durable feel.

The 10-gauge cashmere has 10 stitches or rows of yarn per inch, so the cashmere has a mesh-like look. It is ​​a fine knit, that feels light on the skin.

The 7-gauge cashmere has 7 stitches or rows of yarn per inch, so the cashmere has an open look and is less dense. However, our 7-gauge sweaters are double-layered and knitted with a thick cashmere thread, meaning that the piece has a heavier texture, making it warmer and chunkier. It is one of the most luxurious knits we offer.

Thicker gauges provide more warmth and are ideal for fall and winter, while finer gauges offer a more delicate and lightweight feel, suitable for layering and perfect for spring or summer.

Yes, there are different grades or qualities of cashmere. The quality of cashmere is often determined by the fineness, length, and overall purity of the cashmere fibres.

Cashmere can be categorised into different grades (Grade A, B or C) based on the thickness and length of the fibres. Grade A cashmere, also known as "pure" or "virgin" cashmere, consists of the finest and longest fibres. It is highly prized for its exceptional softness and luxurious feel. The fibres are typically finer, measuring around 14-15.5 microns in diameter. The finer the fibres, the softer and more comfortable the cashmere fabric will feel against the skin.
