Stockholm Archipelago

In this PRC Stories feature, Anaïs Amdrup-Chamby, our Head of PR, takes us through her Swedish summer vacation in the Archipelago with her family.
During this visit, both Anaïs and her family wore their favourite PRC pieces.

Why did you choose the archipelago for your vacation?

My family and I have spent the last three summers in the Swedish archipelago just north of Stockholm with our good friends, who have a family summerhouse there. It is the highlight of our summer, and our kids are always looking forward to seeing their Swedish friends. We usually spend a few days in Stockholm before visiting our friends, but this year we stayed at a beach hotel also in the archipelago.

Surrounded by the sea and pine trees, it felt like we were far away from everything, but it was only 20 minutes from Södermalm in Stockholm. It was such a nice getaway with beautiful nature. One of the best things is that you can spend the morning in the most serene nature, have lunch in the city, visit an art museum, and be back in the archipelago for an afternoon dip in the sea followed by a sauna session.

What did your wear in the archipelago?

I have always been fond of wearing dresses. Dresses are so easy to wear and comfortable. I tend to dress more colourfully in the summer. However, since I gave birth four months before our trip, my body shape was still different, and I was also nursing. So I basically lived in the Women’s Mini Skirt, which has been a lifesaver during pregnancy and postpartum. It expands naturally to the changes my body has gone through, and I always feel more put together and comfortable when I'm wearing the skirt. I usually pair it with a t-shirt, tank top, or linen shirt with easy nursing access.

Another favourite outfit of mine was a pair of white high-waisted linen shorts and the Women's Blouse. Actually, cashmere – especially the lighter pieces are perfect for Scandinavian summers.

Must-dos in the archipelago?

We are so lucky because our friends are the best chefs, always sourcing the highest quality produce and creating so many delicious recipes. We have a shared passion for nourishing, healthy, and colourful food and always feel spoiled with amazing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners on their terrace overlooking the sea. When we're not out in nature, we spend a lot of time on the terrace eating, drinking pour-over coffee, and talking about our next meal.

It doesn’t feel like a real trip to the archipelago without sailing from island to island, admiring the beautiful Swedish architecture and nature. Other must-dos include swimming in the sea, blueberry foraging (if in season), and hiking in the woods to spot reindeer. We also enjoy visiting different trädgårdar around the archipelago or in Stockholm, where we have garden lunches while the kids run around.

Favourite local spots in Stockholm?

Read my friend Luise's Stockholm tips in our previous PRC Stories. She lives in Stockholm and is a true local and knows all the hidden gems.
