Summer has arrived in full force, bringing long days, warm evenings, and the simple pleasures of being able to spend time with friends and family. It is a season of slowing down, travelling light, and being under the sun.
In this edition, we join Line Dalgaard on a family getaway, where she shares moments from her early summer travels and how she styles a selection of our pieces for life away from home. We also celebrate the season through the eyes of children: barefoot days, beach adventures, and the freedom that comes with long summer holidays.

/On family, summer, and vintage nightgowns

This is now our third time hosting a conversation with Line Dalgaard, Director of V1 SALON in Copenhagen. Following a career in fashion, Line now works at the intersection of art and culture, balancing a creative career with family life. In our conversation, she reflects on motherhood, treasured wardrobe heirlooms, and the importance of finding optimism in everyday life.

What's something you've worked on recently that you're most proud of?
My son. I just got back to work from maternity leave, so I have not been working on too much besides being with and get to know him, which is such a privilege. I found my first maternity leave a bit difficult, so getting to do it all over again, but in a more confident and “me” way, is also something I’m quite proud of.

What do you have in your summer wardrobe that you would pass on to the next generation?
Perhaps some of my vintage nightgowns – something that are just not made the same way anymore; the quality and the details. They are adorable, especially when you style them with a simple cotton shirt or a sweater around the waist.

|
|
What do you feel we talk too little about?
Good news! With the state our world is in these years, I tend to forget that good things are happening too. And I think it’s important to talk about that to remind each other that something is stronger than all the hate we’re surrounded by. That said, we of course still must talk (a lot!) about the harsh reality to make it better – also (especially) when we disagree with each other.

/An ode to children and family in the summertime

There is something about summer that belongs to children. With the school year behind us, the season becomes a time for play, travel, and long days spent outdoors.
Designed for everyday summer dressing, our kids’ pieces are made to be lived in. Soft enough for slow mornings, light enough for seaside afternoons, and comfortable enough to move through every part of the day.
