In this PRC Stories feature, Maja Lykke, our PR & Marketing Coordinator, takes us through her winter stay in Mexico. Get her best tips for a Mexican trip.

This Christmas you went to Mexico with your boyfriend. Can you take us through your trip?
We started in Mexico City, where we spent three days exploring the parks and restaurants. After that, we flew to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, for four days, enjoying a slower-paced lifestyle. From there, we drove north to a cute tiny house, where we spent our last six days. Mexico is full of great art, design and food, and we really appreciated the variety in our days.

Can you tell us about your stay at the Tiny House in the middle of nowhere?
I felt like we won the Airbnb lottery. The Tiny House, as it is also named, has design and architectonic references to the Casa Wabi museum, which is only a 20-minute walk away. That means the house is Japanese-inspired, built with only a few different materials and only consists of the necessary things. It is a pure nature experience and is all about simplicity. We started some daily routines and enjoyed cooking with fresh greens from the local market. Each day began with a cup of coffee followed by a 10-minute morning yoga practice on the terrace, a dip in the pool and a plate with eggs and avocados - probably followed by another cup of coffee.
Find the Tiny House here. You're welcome!

Point out 5 of your favourite restaurant recommendations?
Mexico City:
- @contramarmx- get the tuna tosdadas.
- Bar Felix - the perfect place for a drink and a game of backgammon.
- Street food - go for the local food trucks with long lines – that’s always a good sign. But be careful with the chili!
Puerto Escondido:
-@kakurega_omakase- A 12-seat Michelin restaurent within walking distance of the Tiny House, with a Japanese-inspired menu. The chef, hired straight from Kyoto, makes the best nigiri and fish dishes you can imagine. Here, I got into sake as well.
-@cobarde_puerto- a great restaurant with good mescal - also close to the Tiny House.
Which museums did you visit?
I have always been very interested in interior design and the museum Casa Luis Barragán has been on my list for quite a while - it’s truly a masterpiece. Casa Wabi was also a beautiful place to visit, especially if you're staying in the same area as we did, as it gives you a deeper understanding of the surrounding interiors and architecture.
It’s a long flight to Mexico - how do you make yourself comfortable during these long trips? What do you travel with?
I never go without my cashmere knits. This winter, I have been wearing our newly launched Cashmere Scarf every day - perfect for the flight and when the air conditioning kicks in. Besides that, my AirPods, a good book, a silk eye mask from The Beauty Sleeper and a Thermal Spring Water mist from Avène for a little refreshment and moisture while flying.
Any souvenirs that you brought with you?
Ceramics! I love the imperfect, glazed Mexican bowls, and we were so lucky to stumble upon a market where they were selling stacks of different ceramics. I wished I had more space in my luggage!
